S&D Polish Deli has been on the market since 2008. Our physical store is located in the Strip District of Pittsburgh - an area close to downtown where all the best ethnic stores are situated. We started up with just a small place selling products imported form Poland. Day after day our store was expanding - more products and more customers happy to find original items from Poland and other European countries. The addition of a kitchen was a great investment - we started cooking our own dishes according to traditional Polish recipes. They appeared to find a great appreciation of our customers hungry for their Grandma’s specials they have been missing for too long : Pierogi, Borscht, Stuffed Cabbage as well as bakery items like Nut and Poppy Seed Rolls. Many of our out - of - state customers tried the food or did some shopping with us while visiting in Pittsburgh and they wanted to repeat this good experience. I never understood the whole pierogi obsession in Pittsburgh. Don't get me wrong, they're fine, but I never found them exciting. S&D's are kind of exciting!...
I could have sworn for a couple minutes I was in Gliwice or Krakow, Poland while standing in S&D Polish Deli in the Strip District of downtown Pittsburgh....
The mushroom pierogi are delicious. I wasn't a fan of the cheddar. I'd come back.
