Wolfe Employee-Chosen Charities – Animal Rescue League
As we all know, the Wolfe holiday party was a wonderful time! One of the high points for many of us was receiving our charitable contribution from Jason to our Employee-Chosen Charities. The Employee-Chosen Charities allowed each employee to select a charity of their choice to which Wolfe, LLC would donate $500. My selected charity was the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania (ARL). On Sunday I presented the Wolfe, LLC ARL charitable contribution to Dr. Dona Hughes, the Director of Veterinary Medicine at the ARL. She told me that the donation from Wolfe would provide medical care for 20 abandoned, stray or surrendered dogs and cats. I am very proud that Wolfe provides this very generous employee benefit that helps us help others.

Virtual Gifts are still GIFTS!!
3 years ago my wife would never shop online. Going to a laptop seemed always a fight….it was just too hard. Now, with an IPad and confidence, it seems like most of the searches and purchases are done online. So, while she appreciates the personalized and customized Gift Cards she receives from GiftCards.com with the photos of our dogs on them, the next gift she will receive will be a Virtual Gift….and Virtual Gifts are JUST AS REAL as any other Gift Card. It is great that both GiftCards.com and WRL.com provide customers with an option to send and receive Virtual Gifts.
My Short Time Here
I thought that the holiday party was a very memorable event. I was especially happy to be able to bring my wife, who finally got to meet many of the people that she has heard about over the last 3 months that I have been here. I got to meet many of the spouses of those who I worked with and even their kids. I think that we are blessed to work where we work, especially in the current economy with so many people out of work or looking for work. I think that during this season, we should all reflect on the blessings we have, and look forward to the blessing that are to come. Next year will be a banner year, and only by continuing to row together will we get there. I’ve only been here for a little over 3 months now, but I feel as if I have been here for years. Thank-you for making me feel welcome.

Wolfe LLC Gives Back
2011 is almost over. As we look back and reflect on the successes and the hardships we all faced over the last twelve months, one area that we all can agree upon is that this is the Season of Giving.
For the past few years, Wolfe LLC has always had a passion about looking beyond ourselves and seeing where we can help those in need with our Charity Program.
In 2011, there were two different charitable programs: “Jeans Week” and the Employee-Chosen charities.
Jeans Week allowed Wolfe employees to wear jeans the last week of each month by donating $5 to one of twelve charities chosen. Employees would use the GiftCards.com Group Gift that allows multiple people to contribute to a single cause.
The Employee-Chosen Charities allowed each employee to select a charity of their choice in which Wolfe LLC would donate $500 to. Charities ranged from National Organizations like the American Red Cross and the ALS Association to smaller regional charities like Animal Friends and Bike Pittsburgh.
Each charity chosen has a significant meaning to each employee and the range of charities chosen show just how diverse our employee base is.
2011 donations topped well over $30,000 for the year. A number we are all proud of!
Virtual Rewards are Back
Late last week Wolfe Rewards & Loyalty (WRL) released a new version of our Visa Virtual Reward product for corporate reward programs.
The Virtual Reward is a Visa prepaid account that is delivered electronically to employees
or customers who have earned an award. The product can only be used for online purchases and the account information is entered like a normal Visa Credit Card while at checkout.
What’s great about this type of reward is that it can be delivered within a couple of hours, giving the recipient immediate gratification.
Visa Virtual Reward accounts can be ordered in denominations ranging from $20 to $750. Ordering is very simple and the redemption process for recipients is quick and easy.
Wolfe Employee Mike Tchirkow is now a Certified Fraud Examiner!
Wolfe’s Fraud Prevention Analyst, Mike Tchirkow, recently received his certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)! The CFE program requires participants to display their expertise in the four primary areas of fraud examination: Fraudulent Financial Transactions, Legal Elements of Fraud, Investigation Methods, and Fraud Prevention and Deterrence. This examination takes approximately 10 hours to complete with 125 questions about each section. Mike passed the test his first time and is now officially a Certified Fraud Examiner.
We are so thankful to have Mike on the Wolfe team. Mike recently celebrated his 2 year anniversary with Wolfe in November. We look forward to many more years of his expertise and dedication. Congratulations on this achievement, Mike!
Wolfe.com, LLC Manufacturer of the Year
We are proud to have be selected as a Finalist in the 2011 Manufacturer of the Year Award by the Pittsburgh Business Times .
The awards ceremony was last evening and although we did not win first place in the 50 – 100 employee division it was great to be one of the Finalist. At the event, we also received recognition as one of the Finalist for the Sustainability or “Green” Manufacturer Award. This award was to recognize companies that helped the environment through waste reduction and recyling.
Special Thanks goes out to Jason for giving us the opportunity to be a leading manufacturing company and thanks to all the employees for your hard work and dedication.
