GiftCards.com, the #1 website for gift cards, is looking for a Content Manager with over 7 years’ hands-on experience who can make the brand the authoritative voice in anything gifting. An experienced, creative, inspiring writer with the ability and know-how to build excitement around the world of gifting. A digital-savvy writer with consumer sensitivity.
The candidate will feel comfortable in the entire Web 2.0 and social media spectrum, including social networks, the blogosphere, and the online content and e-commerce spaces. He/she will have worked preferably for a beauty, cosmetics, luxury, fashion, or gift-related company and will have a thorough understanding of the style, tonality, voice of the industry.
Gifting: He/she will have a genuine passion for the world of gifting and everything that surrounds it: gift ideas, gift tips, gift etiquette, how-to’s, gift advice, do’s and dont’s, and other creative and innovative content.
Social Media: Good understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, as well as a variety of other Web 2.0 tools such as Instagram, FourSquare, Pinterest, Yelp, Flickr, etc.
Blogging: Create, maintain, and write/develop all content for a gifting blog. Promote blog through a variety of online marketing viral tools. Build relationships with other relevant bloggers.
Content Management: Creation, editing, upgrading, and accomplishing excellence and consistency in content, tonality, and style that will resonate with consumers and influencers alike. Develop content for ALL GiftCards.com-branded content platforms: web, blogs, social media, mobile, etc. CMS experience.
Specific Tasks will include:
- 1. Content creation – writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and material for social media channels
- 2. Events and event planning – attending industry events and organizing virtual events
- 3. Public relations – managing incoming media requests and coordinating with CMO and/or PR agency
- 4. Customer relations – providing support to call center on an as-needed basis
- 5. Communications strategy – responsible for creating strategic marketing/communications plans to provide direction for the company’s public-facing communications
- 6. Analytics – Use Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives
Basic Skills: Creative, detail-oriented, innovative, organized, and updated on all category trends. A self-starter and trusted advisor to marketing department. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to manage budgets and deliver tasks on time. Tech-savvy, active and very familiar with all digital media: operating systems, social media, mobile platforms, blogging, etc. Must show an understanding of and have a passion for the world of gifting and everything that surrounds it.
Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and over 7 years’ experience, mainly in luxury/beauty/gifting categories in content and creative marketing role. Strong work ethic and integrity. US citizen or permission to work in the United States.
The position reports into the company’s Chief Marketing Officer and is located in Pittsburgh, PA.
Compensation includes a competitive base salary and potential incentive based upon performance, company-wide profit sharing plan, 401(k), and full medical/dental/vision benefits provided.
