DirectCertificates.com Buys Domain Name GiftCards.com

Direct Response Technologies, Inc. owners of business unit DirectCertificates.com, has purchased the domain name GiftCards.com. DirectCertificates.com currently offers corporate merchants with online gift certificates to be used as incentives and rewards. The new domain name acquired by Direct Response Technologies, GiftCards.com, will begin a change in direction for the site and open new doors for merchants and possibly consumers.
The deal was signed today with Spectrum Unlimited and Frederick Bonebrake to purchase the domain name www.giftcards.com. The transaction was cash and stock based. Jason Wolfe is the President and CEO of Direct Response Technologies and is currently looking ahead with plans to provide gift cards to consumers and merchants.
"Frederick Bonebrake and I spent several years working out a deal for us to purchase the giftcards.com domain name. After such time, we were both able to see the value is not only in the name but also in the actions behind the name, and Mr. Bonebrake chose to work with us on this project. We are happy to finally come to an agreement," says Wolfe.
With the purchase of GiftCards.com, DirectCertificates will look to change their platform from selling merchant specific gift certificates to offering a Visa or MasterCard based gift card to individual consumers as well as corporate vendors. This will not be an overnight change, but Wolfe is confident that it will take off and begin to provide customers with the number one choice in gift cards online.
Gift certificates have been a staple in incentive and reward programs for merchants; however with the possible introduction of gift cards and the acquisition of the new domain name, GiftCards.com may find a new way to provide corporate customers as well as individual consumers with a very enticing gift.
