Sr. Developer

Sr. Software Developer is responsible for working closely with management and technical team to design, develop, test and implement code for a variety of website features. This includes writing technical specifications and test plans, creating source code, participating in code reviews, executing QA test plans, and supporting the release process. In addition, the software developer may need to be involved in some administrative functions deemed necessary to maintaining efficiency within the department. The Sr. Software Developer is also responsible for overseeing the performance and productivity of the Software Developers and Jr. Software Developers within the division.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Daily tactical tasks of a specific account within a division (i.e. technical support, bug tickets, assisting sales with ordering/processing issues, etc.)
  • Designing architecture, developing application code, testing and implementing new site features as well as troubleshooting, debugging and maintaining site functionality.
  • Supervising other Developers within the technical team.
  • Attending key meetings and conference calls.
  • Document design as needed for code reviews and design archive files.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining procedures to support quality development processes.
  • Maintaining source code archives in accordance with established Version Control Systems (CVS/SVN) policies.
  • Maintaining an ongoing knowledge of emerging technologies within the industry.

Responsibilities Include:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area, preferably e-commerce.
  • Strong knowledge of object oriented programming.
  • Expert knowledge of HTML, XHTML, PHP, MySQL, CSS, RSS, XML, AJAX, JavaScript and various web browsers, especially cross-browser functionality and compatibility.
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Solaris systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Apache server and PHP interpreter.
  • Strong knowledge of CakePHP or another MVC framework.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Strong communications skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of PCs and applications.
  • Demonstrated initiative; self motivation to complete tasks on schedule and self responsibility to complete tasks as assigned.
  • Commitment to quality and teamwork.
  • Can work with little guidance.
