Why was my Gift Card purchase declined?

For CREDIT Transactions: If the purchase is greater than the funds available on the gift card, the card may be declined. To make a purchase greater than the balance of the gift card, split the purchase into two transactions. Tell the cashier in advance the exact amount to deduct from the gift card. Then pay the balance of the purchase with a second form of payment such as cash, check, or a credit card. Please note, not all merchants are equipped to handle “split tender” transactions.

For DEBIT Transactions: In order to use your gift card as a debit transaction, you will need to enter a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at the point of sale. To obtain a PIN, visit the View PIN page or contact Customer Service.

Payment processing terminals at restaurants, gas stations, and other service merchants vary. Additionally online shopping carts may have certain requirements as well. Review the following suggestions to ensure your gift card is accepted:

  • Restaurants and other Service Merchants – Restaurants and other service merchants such as spas or salons may automatically run an authorization transaction of 20 percent more than the total bill to ensure the gift card has enough funds to cover a gratuity. We recommend that you ask the cashier to either charge only the bill amount (minus the gratuity) or reduce the bill amount by 20 percent and retry the transaction. Be prepared to pay the bill difference with another form of payment.
  • Gas Stations – When a card is swiped at a gas station pump, the dollar amount of the transaction is unknown. So gas station pumps typically pre-authorize $75 or more on the card swiped. To avoid having this hold placed on your gift card, pay inside. Tell the attendant to only charge the amount you specify and to run the card as a “credit” transaction.
  • Hotels – At check-in, hotels may automatically place a hold on gift card funds for the estimated amount of the stay, plus up to 30 percent for incidentals. To avoid having this hold placed on your gift card, use a credit card when checking into the hotel instead. Then pay the final bill with the gift card.
  • Auto Rentals – Many car rental companies require a credit card to make a reservation. To use a gift card, reserve a car with a credit card but tell the attendant you will pay the final bill with a gift card.
  • Online – If you experience difficulty using your gift card for online or telephone purchases, the most likely reason is that the merchant’s fraud screening process is matching the billing information entered at checkout with the billing information on your gift card. To avoid this mismatch, sign up for a free account at GiftCards.com, register the gift card, and assign a name and address to it.

Please note: our cards cannot be used to receive cash from an ATM or from a cashier. Additionally, transactions for online gambling sites, adult websites, money transfer services, PayPal, and recurring bill payment will be declined.

Do Personalized Gift Cards have a PIN?

For your convenience, Personalized gift cards can be processed as credit transactions so that Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) are not required. If you would like to use one of our cards as a debit transaction, visit the View PIN page or contact Customer Service to obtain a PIN.

Can I withdraw money at an ATM or deposit a gift card into my bank account?

GiftCards.com Gift Cards can only be used to make purchases. There is no cash access to the funds on the cards via an ATM or bank transaction. We offer reloadable Visa® or MasterCard® reward cards with ATM capabilities on our sister site, www.OmniCard.com, for corporate customers.

Why is the merchant asking me for a PIN?

Although the front of the gift card says “Debit,” our cards can be processed either as debit or credit transactions. Credit transactions do not require a Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you would like to use one of our cards as a debit transaction, visit the View PIN page or contact Customer Service to obtain a PIN.

Please note: our cards cannot be used to receive cash from an ATM or from a cashier.

Do GiftCards.com gift card funds expire? Are there usage or monthly fees?

All gift cards (except our discount gift cards) have a seven-year expiration date from the time of purchase. The expiration date is printed on the front of the card. There are no fees associated with using our gift cards to make a purchase; however, cards that are inactive for more than 12 consecutive months will be charged a $4.95 per month Service Fee, except GiftBrands products.

How long will it take for my gift card to arrive?

On average, plastic gift card orders placed before 10pm EST are shipped out the next business day from our Pittsburgh, PA fulfillment center. Below are estimated delivery times from the date the order was shipped:

  • USPS First Class: Estimate 5-10 business days (USPS does not guarantee delivery dates for First Class Mail)
  • USPS Delivery Confirmation: 2-5 business days (USPS Delivery Confirmation does not guarantee a delivery date but the confirmation number can be used to check the estimated delivery time)
  • FedEx Priority Overnight: 1 business day
  • FedEx Two Day: 2 business days
  • FedEx Express Saver: 3-4 business days

Please note, business days are defined as Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Also, we cannot ship to P.O. boxes, only the physical address can be accepted.

Unless a future delivery date is scheduled, on average, VISA® eGift Card Card orders placed before 10pm EST on business days are emailed within 4 hours of purchase. Merchant eGift Cards will be delivered within 24 business hours from the time of purchase. Business days are defined as Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Additionally, we review all orders for potential credit card fraud. If we find irregularities with a purchase, the purchase may be delayed or you may receive an automated phone call to verify and confirm your order. We will NOT process or ship orders that require additional verification before confirmation is received by the credit card holder.

Why was my gift card order canceled?

Gift card orders are cancelled for the following reasons:

  • Information provided does not match the information on file at your bank.
  • Image does not meet regulatory requirements.
  • Delivery address deemed undeliverable.
  • Your order was not confirmed with our automated call system.

An order cancellation e-mail will specify the exact problem.

What is a Personalized Gift Card?

Personalized gift cards are prepaid cards that can be customized with photos, images, and embossed messages. Bearing the Visa® or MasterCard® logo, these cards can be used in the U.S. and District of Columbia everywhere Visa debit cards and Debit MasterCard is accepted. Cards may not be used at any merchant, including Internet and mail or telephone order merchants, outside of the U.S. or the District of Columbia.

Unlike a store brand gift card that comes in a standard design and can only be used where it was purchased, Personalized gift cards are a unique gift of choice that can be redeemed online, in restaurants, at small boutiques, and virtually anywhere the recipient would like to shop.

How do I activate my Personalized Gift Card?

Select “Activate” at the top of GiftCards.com to activate your gift card. You will need to enter the 16-digit number on the front of the card and the 3-digit security code (CVN) found on the back of the card. You can also contact Customer Service to activate a gift card over the phone.

General Gift Card

What do I do if I see an unauthorized transaction on my card?

If you noticed unauthorized transactions on your card, download and complete the Cardholder Services Disputed Transaction Form.

Complete and submit the Cardholder Services Disputed Transaction Form for the transaction in question. If you need to obtain a copy of your card transaction history, please call GiftCards.com customer support at 1-877-944-3822.

Submit one form per disputed transaction, if there are multiple transactions, please ask to submit one form per gift card.   The process can take up to 3 months. All questions regarding the status of a dispute must be directed to Cardholder Services at 1-877-252-4622, which is on the disputed transaction form. GiftCards.com customer service has no insight into the status of a disputed transaction once it has been submitted.

 

Is there a fee to replace a lost or stolen gift card?

Lost or Stolen cards can be replaced for $4.95 Lost/Stolen Card Replacement Fee per card.

Is a GiftCards.com Gift Card a credit card?

GiftCards.com Gift Cards are considered prepaid cards.  However, at the point of sale terminal, your gift card can be processed as a “credit” transaction to avoid needing a PIN. If you would like to use a GiftCards.com Gift Card as a “debit” transaction, contact Customer Service to obtain a PIN.

Please note, your card cannot be used at an ATM or bank to receive cash.

Will the gift recipient receive a statement?

The cardholder can review purchases or transaction history by creating an account and adding the card in the Gift Manager section. Cardholders may request an emailed transaction history by contacting Customer Service.

Cardholders do not need an account to check a card’s balance. Check the balance anytime by selecting Balance at the top of GiftCards.com.

Merchant eGift Cards

Are Merchant eGift Cards refundable?

Once the Merchant eGift Card has been e-mailed, it is non-refundable. If the intended recipient does not receive the e-card or accidentally deletes it, ask the recipient to check SPAM folders, deleted email folders or automatic filters. If the gift card is not found, contact Customer Service for assistance.

Are there restrictions on purchasing Merchant eGift Cards?

No, but the card value denominations are preset for all of the merchant card brands.

Do Merchant eGift Cards expire or have any fees?

Most merchant cards do not have an expiration date or fees. However, since every merchant is different, please refer to their specific terms and conditions found on each brand’s page prior to purchasing their card.

How are Merchant eGift Cards delivered?

Your recipient will receive an email message that contains a link to the gift card. The link will take the recipient to the personalized eGift Card where it can either be printed or entered into a mobile wallet application for presentation at a merchant location. In some cases, the merchant may specify that an egift card must be used online. Please refer to redemption instructions on each brand’s page for specific instructions.

You will also receive a confirmation email. If the recipient does not receive the Merchant egift card, instruct the recipient to check e-mail as well as any SPAM folders or automatic filters. If the gift card does not arrive within the expected timeframe, contact Customer Service for assistance. Have the invoice number and the recipient’s e-mail address available prior to making the call.

How long does Merchant eGift Card delivery take?

It can sometimes take up to 24 business hours from the time of purchase to review the order unless you specify a future delivery date.

Where can Merchant eGift Cards be used?

Can the balance on a Visa eGift Cards be negative? (Yes)

Any purchase for an amount greater than the available balance on a Visa® eGift Card should be declined. However, if a merchant submits a compromised authorization, it’s possible for the combination of pending approvals to result in a negative balance.

What if the recipient does not receive the Visa eGift Card?

Since a physical gift card is not mailed, the recipient will receive notification of the gift via e-mail. Instruct the recipient to check e-mail as well as any SPAM folders or automatic filters. You and the recipient will receive a second reminder e-mail if the egift card is not claimed within a few hours.

If the gift card does not arrive within the expected timeframe, contact Customer Service for assistance. Have the invoice number and the recipient’s e-mail address available prior to making the call.

Can a Visa eGift Card be used for foreign purchases? (No)

Visa® eGift Cards may be not used for foreign purchases.

Can I convert a Visa eGift Card into a physical gift card? (No)

We cannot transfer funds from Visa® eGift Cards to physical gift cards.

Visa eGift Cards can be purchased in any amount from $10 to $250.

How do I check the balance of my Visa eGift Card?

Select “Support” from the GiftCards.com top menu or go directly to the “Balance” page. You will need to enter the 16-digit Visa® eGift Card number.

Where can I find my whole Visa eGift Card Number?

The Visa® eGift Card number is displayed when a free GiftCards.com account is created and the Visa eGift Card is registered.

How do I claim Visa eGift Cards and where can eGift Cards be used?

Visa® eGift Card are delivered via e-mail with “confirmation link.” Clicking the confirmation link in the email will send the recipient to an activation screen. Alternatively, you can go directly to the “Activate” page and enter the Gift Activation Code found in the e-mail received.

Visa eGift Cards can be used to make purchases on the Internet and by telephone from any merchant that accepts Visa Debit cards. They may also be used in stores for transactions that do not require a physical card.

How are Visa eGift Cards delivered and how long does delivery take?

Visa® eGift Cards are delivered via e-mail. The greeting includes instructions on how to activate and check the balance of the gift card on our website. The egift cards can be used for online and telephone purchases anywhere that Visa cards are accepted. They may also be usable in stores where merchants are willing to manually key the card number and PIN into their credit card processing terminal.

On average, VISA eGift Card orders placed before 10pm EST on business days are emailed within 4 hours of purchase. If the recipient does not redeem the egift card within 24 hours of shipment, a second email will be sent and the sender will be notified via email as well.

Please note, business days are defined as Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Additionally, we review all orders for potential credit card fraud. If we find irregularities with a purchase, for your protection, you will receive an automated phone call to verify and confirm your order. GMoney Rewards

What is GMoney Rewards and how do I earn GMoney Rewards?

GMoney Rewards is a rewards program for GiftCards.com purchases. Select purchases earns points that can discount future GiftCards.com purchases. GMoney members can earn up to 8 points for each $1 spent. Each 1 point can be redeemed for $.01 off of a future purchase.

To earn GMoney Rewards, you must first sign up for the GMoney Rewards program at giftcards.com/rewards. Once you are signed up for the program (and logged in to yourGiftCards.com account), you will automatically earn points with each purchase.

Signing up and participating in GMoney Rewards is free to all GiftCards.com customers.

If I cancel my order, do I get to keep the GMoney Rewards that were earned with the order? (No)

No. If you cancel a GiftCards.com order, you will not be able to keep the GMoney Rewards earned from that order. The GMoney Rewards points from the cancelled order will be deducted from your total points balance.

Does GMoney expire? (Yes)

Yes. GMoney Rewards expire one year from the date they are earned.

Can I add past purchases to my GMoney Rewards balance? (No)

No. Only orders purchased on or after June 12, 2015 can earn GMoney Rewards. Additionally, if you are not logged into your GiftCards.com account when you make a purchase, you cannot add the order to your GMoney Rewards balance after the purchase is processed.

What is a GMoney Rewards Point worth?

GMoney members can earn up to 8 points for each $1 spent. Each 1 point can be redeemed for $.01 off of a future purchase.

Can GMoney be redeemed for cash? (No)

GMoney Rewards have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for money. GMoney can only be redeemed for future purchases on GiftCards.com.

How do I sign up or opt out of GMoney Rewards?

Sign up for GMoney Rewards at www.giftcards.com/rewards. Signing up is free. You can opt out anytime by logging in to your account, accessing your Dashboard, choosing “Point Details” in the Reward Program section and choosing “Opt Out”.

How do I check my GMoney Rewards balance?

You can check your GMoney Rewards balance by logging in to your GiftCards.com account and choosing “Manage Account” from the Header. On your Dashboard, choose “Point Details” from the Reward Program section. You will find your points balance, points activity, and other information regarding your account.

How do I spend GMoney Rewards Points?

If you have a GMoney Rewards balance, you will be prompted on the Billing and Shipping page at checkout to apply your GMoney Rewards to your purchase.

Are GMoney Rewards points earned for the purchase total or only the gift value?

Points are determined by the full invoice total. For example, if an order totals $250 (including shipping and handling and processing fees), you will earn 250 points. That earns you a $2.50 discount off of a future GiftCards.com purchase.

Are there dollar limits or name requirements for Personalized Gift Cards?

Personalized gift cards can be purchased in any amount from $10 to $500. Any increment between those limits is considered a valid gift card amount.

Although you do not have to enter a name in the embossed text fields, words (e.g. Happy Birthday, Best Friend, etc.) must be entered.

Please note that some telephone and online merchants require the name and address associated with a prepaid card. So if the card doesn’t have a name printed on it, you should sign up for a free account at GiftCards.com, register the gift card, and assign a name and address to it.

Will I be charged a fee to use a Personalized Gift Card? (No)

There are no fees associated with using a personalized gift card to make a purchase.

Are there any Personalized Gift Card photo restrictions? (Yes)

All images are subject to review and must meet regulatory requirements.

For best results, uploaded images must be at least 640 × 480 pixels and must be in one of the following formats: .jpg, .gif, or .png.

Images that contain the following will not be accepted:

  • Company names, trademarks, logos, slogans, works of art, copyrighted materials or brands of any third party and their likeness.
  • Celebrities, professional athletes, actors, cartoons, or computer game figures that are the sole focus of the image.
  • Advertising or promotional materials or branded products.
  • Phone numbers, addresses, URL addresses, account or PIN numbers.
  • Violence, blood, dead animals, indecency, nudity or semi-nudity.
  • Culturally or socially insensitive text or images, or those that show alcohol, tobacco, gambling, firearms, online or role playing games, or adult entertainment.
  • Text or images that display the views, opinions or beliefs of political groups or religions.
  • Libelous or derogatory or defamatory content.
  • Discriminative or provocative content.
  • Numbers, text or images that might induce misunderstanding.
  • Images that display anti-government behavior or sentiment, or content that is in violation of any rules, regulations, or laws.
  • Text or images that might result in card acceptance confusion by merchants.
  • Other text or images that are deemed not suitable for any reason for use as a gift card face by GiftCards.com or our partners.

Where can Personalized Gift Cards be redeemed?

Personalized Gift Cards can be redeemed wherever Visa Debit cards or MasterCard Debit cards are accepted, except at online gambling sites, adult websites, money transfer services, and PayPal. Personalized gift cards cannot be used for recurring payment transactions.

Are Personalized Gift Cards the same as credit cards? (No)

Personalized Gift Cards carry a fixed dollar value. Each time the gift card is used, the value is reduced by the amount of the purchase. Once this amount is completely spent, the recipient can either dispose of the card or retain it as a keepsake of the original gift. By contrast, traditional credit cards are not only for making purchases, but are designed as potential, long-term tools for credit-building and personal financial transactions.

What is your Returns and Refunds Policy?

Due to the nature of our products, only certain types of gift cards can be returned for a refund. For full details and restrictions, please review our Returns and Refunds Policy.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover®, and American Express® credit and debit cards registered to United States addresses. International orders will not be accepted

Who can order from GiftCards.com?

United States residents ages 18 and older can place an order of less than 50 gift cards with GiftCards.com. Gift card orders of more than 50 cards should go through our Corporate Division, www.OmniCard.com. International orders will not be accepted.

Does the gift recipient need to sign an agreement?

The gift card recipient accepts our Terms and Conditions either by signing the back of the card, by using the card, by receiving the card by request, or by purchasing the card online and manually checking the box, agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.

In addition, each gift card is affixed to or includes a copy of the Terms and Conditions. This Cardholder Agreement fully explains the rules regarding the use of the card as well as the fees associated with the gift card.

By purchasing a gift card from GiftCards.com, you are accepting all of the terms and usages of the GiftCards.com Gift Card.

For corporate bulk order customers ordering 50 or more gift cards, a corporate bulk order agreement must be signed and faxed to GiftCards.com at 412-921-7345 before the order can be processed. Corporate gift cards are available at www.OmniCard.com.

Can I cancel an order? (Yes)

Orders can only be cancelled before the order is printed and shipped. Orders are typically printed and shipped within one business day of the order being placed. Once the order has been printed or shipped, it cannot be canceled.

Are there dollar limits per card? (Yes)

Visa® and MasterCard® Gift cards can be purchased in any amount from $10 to $500. Any increment between those limits is considered a valid gift card amount. Merchant Gift Cards can be purchased in amounts ranging from $10 to $500, depending on the merchant.  Some merchant gift cards only allow for set denominations such as $25, $50, and $100.

What should I do if my credit or debit card isn’t working?

If you’re having trouble completing an order, check the following:

  • For Visa and MasterCard, ensure the 3-digit Security Code (CVN) on the back of the card is entered correctly. For American Express, ensure the 4-digit Security Code (CVN) on the front of the card is entered correctly.
  • Ensure the expiration date is entered correctly.
  • Ensure the address entered on the gift card form matches the billing address on your credit or debit card.
  • Ensure all billing information is entered correctly by calling the issuer of your credit or debit card to confirm.

Why am I receiving an AVS Mismatch error when placing an order?

AVS Mismatch error means the billing address entered does not match the billing address on file with the issuer of your credit or debit card. Common errors include using abbreviations (e.g. “St.”) instead of spelled out words (e.g. “Street”).

Can I modify an order? (No)

Once an order is submitted, it cannot be modified.

Why was my gift card order canceled?

Do I need to sign for FedEx deliveries? (Yes)

FedEx requires a signature for the delivery options we have available.

Can I get a refund on shipping and handling costs? (No)

Once an order is placed, the purchaser has agreed to the Terms and Conditions which clearly state that we will not refund shipping or handling.

Can a gift card be shipped to a recipient outside of the United States? (No)

International orders will not be accepted. We will accept orders from an APO (U.S. military delivery address) address, but can only ship gift cards to residents of the United States.

What happens if the recipient does not receive their card?

If the gift card does not arrive within the expected timeframe (depending on the shipping method selected), contact Customer Service for assistance. Have the invoice number and the recipient’s address available prior to making the call.

Using My Gift Card

Why was my Gift Card purchase declined?

For CREDIT Transactions: If the purchase is greater than the funds available on the gift card, the card may be declined. To make a purchase greater than the balance of the gift card, split the purchase into two transactions. Tell the cashier in advance the exact amount to deduct from the gift card. Then pay the balance of the purchase with a second form of payment such as cash, check, or a credit card. Please note, not all merchants are equipped to handle “split tender” transactions.

For DEBIT Transactions: In order to use your gift card as a debit transaction, you will need to enter a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at the point of sale. To obtain a PIN, visit the View PIN page or contact Customer Service.

Payment processing terminals at restaurants, gas stations, and other service merchants vary. Additionally online shopping carts may have certain requirements as well. Review the following suggestions to ensure your gift card is accepted:

  • Restaurants and other Service Merchants – Restaurants and other service merchants such as spas or salons may automatically run an authorization transaction of 20 percent more than the total bill to ensure the gift card has enough funds to cover a gratuity. We recommend that you ask the cashier to either charge only the bill amount (minus the gratuity) or reduce the bill amount by 20 percent and retry the transaction. Be prepared to pay the bill difference with another form of payment.
  • Gas Stations – When a card is swiped at a gas station pump, the dollar amount of the transaction is unknown. So gas station pumps typically pre-authorize $75 or more on the card swiped. To avoid having this hold placed on your gift card, pay inside. Tell the attendant to only charge the amount you specify and to run the card as a “credit” transaction.
  • Hotels – At check-in, hotels may automatically place a hold on gift card funds for the estimated amount of the stay, plus up to 30 percent for incidentals. To avoid having this hold placed on your gift card, use a credit card when checking into the hotel instead. Then pay the final bill with the gift card.
  • Auto Rentals – Many car rental companies require a credit card to make a reservation. To use a gift card, reserve a car with a credit card but tell the attendant you will pay the final bill with a gift card.
  • Online – If you experience difficulty using your gift card for online or telephone purchases, the most likely reason is that the merchant’s fraud screening process is matching the billing information entered at checkout with the billing information on your gift card. To avoid this mismatch, sign up for a free account at GiftCards.com, register the gift card, and assign a name and address to it.

Please note: our cards cannot be used to receive cash from an ATM or from a cashier. Additionally, transactions for online gambling sites, adult websites, money transfer services, PayPal, and recurring bill payment will be declined.

Can I use a GiftCards.com gift card outside of the U.S.? (No)

As of April 1, 2012, Federal regulations prohibit GiftCards.com Gift Cards from being used outside of the continental United States.

This card may be used in the U.S. and District of Columbia everywhere (Visa® debit cards, Debit MasterCard®, Discover® cards) is/are accepted. The card may not be used at any merchant, including Internet and mail or telephone order merchants, outside of the U.S. or the District of Columbia.

Can I withdraw money at an ATM or deposit a gift card into my bank account?

GiftCards.com Gift Cards can only be used to make purchases. There is no cash access to the funds on the cards via an ATM or bank transaction. We offer reloadable Visa® or MasterCard® reward cards with ATM capabilities on our sister site, www.OmniCard.com, for corporate customers.

Why is the merchant asking me for a PIN?

Although the front of the gift card says “Debit,” our cards can be processed either as debit or credit transactions. Credit transactions do not require a Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you would like to use one of our cards as a debit transaction, visit the View PIN page or contact Customer Service to obtain a PIN.

Please note: our cards cannot be used to receive cash from an ATM or from a cashier.

Can I use my gift card on my PayPal account or for recurring payments?

GiftCards.com Gift Cards cannot be used in conjunction with a PayPal account or for any recurring bill payments.

What happens if I need to return an item purchased with my gift card?

Store return policies may vary. You may receive a credit to your gift card, a cash refund or even a store credit, depending on the particular store. A credit to your account may take up to one week to process before it’s available for use.

Please note that GiftCards.com Gift Cards are not reloadable. If the original purchase depleted the value of the gift card, the account would automatically close. If the merchant insists on crediting the closed account, the account can be reopened and the gift card reissued for a fee of $4.95 which is deducted from the gift card value.

Do GiftCards.com gift card funds expire? Are there usage or monthly fees?

All gift cards (except our discount gift cards) have a seven-year expiration date from the time of purchase. The expiration date is printed on the front of the card. There are no fees associated with using our gift cards to make a purchase; however, cards that are inactive for more than 12 consecutive months will be charged a $4.95 per month Service Fee, except GiftBrands products.

Where can Personalized Gift Cards be redeemed?

Personalized Gift Cards can be redeemed wherever Visa Debit cards or MasterCard Debit cards are accepted, except at online gambling sites, adult websites, money transfer services, and PayPal. Personalized gift cards cannot be used for recurring payment transactions.

What happens if my GiftCards.com Gift Card is lost or stolen?

If your gift card is lost or stolen, contact Customer Service immediately. Provide as much detailed information as possible. Typically, we will suspend your lost/stolen card, and issue a replacement card for $4.95 plus shipping and handling, both of which can be deducted from the gift card value.

Can I make a purchase for more than the amount remaining on my gift card?

To make a purchase for more than the amount remaining on your gift card, you will need to know the remaining balance on your card and pay the difference first with cash, check, credit or debit card. Then use your gift card to pay for the remainder, or the last portion of the purchase. Merchants can use multiple forms of payment to pay for your purchases.

For example: You have a $25.00 gift card and are making a purchase for $35.00. Pay the $10.00 by cash, check, credit or debit card and then have the cashier run your gift card for the remaining $25.00 balance.

Select “Balance” at the top of GiftCards.com to check the balance of your gift card. You will need to enter the 16-digit number on the front of the card and the 3-digit security code (CVN) found on the back of the card. You can also contact Customer Service to check the balance of a gift card.

Local Gift Cards

Can Local Gift Cards be customized? (Yes)

Local Gift Cards can be customized with one of our preselected images or an image from your personal library. Uploaded images must be at least 945 x 605 pixels and must be in one of the following formats: .jpg, .gif, or .png.

What if a merchant refuses to accept Local Gift Cards?

Local Gift Cards with a brand logo clearly marked on the card must be redeemed at the designated merchant’s place of business. Local Gift Cards with a plain text logo or without a clear brand designation are redeemable anywhere Discover® is accepted. Category-restricted Direct merchants can be used at any merchant within a shopping category of merchants. If you’re not sure which type of card you have, refer to the Terms and Conditions on your card for specific instructions.

Will I be charged a fee to use a Local Gift Card? (No)

How do merchants sign up for the Local Gift Card program?

All merchants within the Discover® Network are automatically listed in our Local Gift Cards directory. If your business is not listed, visit the Local Gift Cards Partners page.

What is the difference between GiftLocal Free and GiftLocal Premium?

The GiftLocal Free program provides a merchant with a free Local webpage. Along with nominal content privileges, a merchant’s name will be placed on each gift card in plain text. Gift cards ordered from this program can be used anywhere Discover® is accepted.

The GiftLocal Premium program allows a merchant to claim a GiftLocal webpage, edit all features of their webpage content, brand each gift card with their logo, and restrict the gift card to only be accepted at the merchant’s location. The Premium program costs $199 a year.

Additionally, we offer a GiftLocal Direct program which has the same features as the Premium program, excepting that all gift cards can be used within the same shopping category as a merchant. For example, Joe’s Restaurant gift cards can be used at any restaurants and nightlife location that accepts Discover®.

What if a Local Gift Cards merchant moves?

Through Google Maps integration, the most current location for each Local Gift Card merchant is always listed and updated. However, merchants who officially sign up for our Local program can change their address at will.

How do I find Local Gift Cards merchants in my area?

Visit the Local Gift Cards page and enter your city and state in the search field. Featured (Premium/Direct) Merchants and Associations will be displayed first, followed by other merchants in your area. Use the category listing or merchant name search field to narrow the results further.

Must Local Gift Cards be used at the location printed on the card carrier?

Why does it cost to buy some Local Gift Cards, but not others?

GiftCards.com has direct relationships with merchants who are flagged as Fee Free. When you see a ‘Fee Free’ button next to the local business, the merchant is paying the processing fees for your card so you ONLY pay for the card value. Standard shipping for Fee Free merchants is also Free. For all other program merchants, purchasers pay the card fees.

How do I register or sign up to be a PicPaid artist?

Create a free GiftCards.com account then sign up to be a PicPaid Artist.

The on on-screen instructions are simple. Be prepared to enter a few details such as your artist name, a brief bio, and links to your social media pages so customers who enjoy your work can become fans. Once your landing page is created, share it with family and friends.

What is PicPaid and why is the program discontinued?

PicPaid was a program created several years ago to increase the designs available to consumers and to provide a way for individuals to display and share their designs. Originally, contributors received compensation when a gift card bearing a submitted image was purchased.

The payment portion of the program was discontinued April 11, 2016. It is our understanding that some individuals want to continue to display and share their designs despite the fee change to $0, which is why user-generated designs are still available. To have your user-generated content removed from the PicPaid program, send an email to picpaidchanges@giftcards.com.

Outstanding fees due to PicPaid participants will be paid by check and mailed the week of April 25, 2016.

What is a Small Business Prepaid Card?

The Small Business Prepaid Card is a Visa Debit prepaid card for businesses to purchase and give as a reward or incentive to their employees or customers. Small Business Prepaid Cards can be customized with company logos, branding, and messages. Bearing the Visa® logo, these cards can be used everywhere Visa Debit cards are accepted.

What is the minimum & maximum value per card?

Small Business Prepaid Cards can be loaded with funds ranging from $10 to $500.

What financial institutions issue Small Business Prepaid Cards?

Small Business Prepaid Cards are issued by CenterState Bank of Florida.

Is there a limit on how many Small Business Prepaid Cards I can purchase? (Yes)

Yes. Your small business may purchase up to $9,000 over a 12-month period, with a per order limit of $2500, from GiftCards.com. For any purchases exceeding these limits, you will be alerted at checkout and referred to our corporate sales division OmniCard.com.

Additionally, you may only purchase 50 cards per day from GiftCards.com.

Is there an approval process to order Small Business Prepaid Cards? (Yes)

Yes. All businesses are subject to a review process completed by our Compliance team. Small businesses must pass all portions of the review to complete an order.

Can I use a Small Business Prepaid card outside of the United States? (Yes)
