“Gifting Made Easy” by Gift Card Girlfriend
I’m excited to announce our new line of free, printable gift card holders designed to perfectly match our pre-designed gift cards. (Remember Garanimals?) Now you have the option to buy a matching greeting card or print a matching holder at home that can be used to craft up your card a la Gift Card Girlfriend. I’ll give you inspiration for each holder, but you can use them any way that you’d like–you can even use these free prints to deliver store brand gift cards. Adding a simple holder to a gift card with a custom message is the easiest way to make a gift card more personal. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.
Step 1: Order Gift Card and Download Printable
Although you don’t have to order this thank you gift card to print the gift card holder, they are so darn cute together that I hope you’ll at least consider it. Also, we’re giving you two carrier options–flat and folded. The flat carrier simply requires you to make a few cuts and to attach the gift card. The folded carrier gives you a little more “ta-da!” since the gift card is hidden until the gift is opened. With the folded option, however, you’ll need to make a few cuts, score the folds, fold the carrier, glue the sides and tuck the gift card inside. Even the “harder” option only takes a couple of minutes to complete.

Step 2: Print and Cut
After downloading the holder you want, print it on a color printer using “best quality” and “actual size” settings. (Do not select “shrink to fit” or any other setting that will change the size of the printed .pdf image.) White, card stock paper measuring 8-1/2″ x 11″ works best. Cut the holder with a paper cutter using the trim marks as a guide.
If you selected the flat holder, all you have to do is affix the thank you gift card to it. Using double-sided tape or glue dots, attach the gift card to the holder in the marked spot. (Be careful not to damage the magnetic stripe.) I like to hang gift card holders on a “little something extra.” If you’re planning to do the same, punch a hole in the top of the carrier and loop a piece of ribbon, twine, or string through the opening. Attach the holder to a vase, potted plant or a bottle, and you’re done! That’s gifting made easy, for sure! If you prefer the folded holder, then read on.
Step 3: Measure the Folded Holder
If you look at the printed side of the folded carrier, you’ll see an ever-so-faint line that indicates where to fold the card. The lines are at the 3″ and 6-1/4″ marks. Using a pencil, mark the back side (white side) of the carrier at those measurements.
Step 4: Score the Folded Holder
The easiest way to fold card stock is to score it first. Although there are scoring instruments, I just use the end of a mechanical pencil without the lead. Using a ruler and the measured marks, score the paper on the fold lines. (Watch this video on how I score card stock.)
Step 5: Fold the Holder
Fold up the gift card holder as shown. Using double-sided tape or a glue stick, seal the edges of the gift card pocket. Then put the gift card inside. Add a personal note in the white-space above the gift card, if you’d like. With that, the gift card is ready to go. Deliver it as-is, tuck the card inside a larger gift or punch a hole through the top (careful not to nick the magnetic stripe) and attach it to something extra.
Step 7: Present
For this thank you gift, I found a ceramic vase with handles on each side. For the pocket-style holder, I circled twine around the top of the vase and tied the holder to the vase with a bow. For the flat holder, I simply tied the holder to the handle. The hydrangea works for both.
If all this crafting is too much, then let us do the work for you. When you order the Thank You Gift Card, order the standard greeting card to go with it. Have both delivered to your home or let us ship directly to the recipient. For less than a couple of dollars, your gift of gratitude can be out of your hands and on its way in a matter of minutes.
