Using the website or the phone:
1. Enter the 16-digit card number on the front of the gift card.
2. Enter the three digit CVN number located on the back of the gift card. (The last 3 digits on the right.)
3. Enter the activation code. (This code should have been provided to you by the person or company that gave you the card).
4. If you do not know the activation code, please contact the person or company that gave you the gift card. For security purposes, Customer Service staff at GiftCards.com™ are not permitted to provide activation codes.
Your activation code is only available from the person or company that gave you the gift card.
Our GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Cards do NOT have the capability to have funds added to them. Corporate clients that have established a GiftCards.com™ CoBrand however have the option to purchase reloadable cards.

If you have purchased or were given a GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card, you can check your balance at any ATM that displays the Cirrus and/or Interlink logo. There is a fee of $1.00 per balance inquiry that is applied directly to the gift card. Typically, all gift cards are mailed the next business day after the order is placed, provided the purchase is verified with the bank, with the purchaser and the order is placed before 4:30 PM ET. Virtual Gift orders made Monday through Friday between 8am - 5 pm will be processed within 24 hours; orders made after 5pm on Friday may take upwards of 48-72 hours to process.

Your gift card expires on the last day of the expiration month printed on the front of the card. If purchased before 10/22/2009, your card will expire in 24 months from the issue date. If purchased after 10/22/2009, your card will expire in 12 months from the issue date. For Corporate clients, this date may be shorter - please contact the company that purchased your gift card for further details.
4. How does a GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card differ from a traditional credit card?
The GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card is Visa-branded and resembles regular credit and debit cards. The difference: prepaid debit cards are spending tools that have been funded, in advance, by the card purchaser. If a company or an individual gives someone a GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card, they've already applied a fixed amount of funds to the card. Once this amount is completely spent, the recipient can either dispose of the card or retain it as a keepsake of the original gift. By contrast, traditional credit cards are not only for making purchases, but are designed as potential, long-term tools for credit-building and personal financial transactions.
5. What happens if there are still funds available when my GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card expires?
We encourage you to use the entire gift amount before the gift card expires. When your card expires, the funds are no longer available. The card and the underlying funds expire at the same time.
7. Is the GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card a credit card?
The GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card is NOT a Visa® Credit Card it is a Debit card, but should be put through at the point of sale as a Credit. We know, its confusing. The gift card carries a fixed cash amount determined by the purchaser at the time of purchase. Each time the gift card is used, the purchase amount is deducted from the available balance.
We do not offer online statements for the cardholder. If you would like to review purchasees for a gift card please call us at 877-944-3822. We also do not offer mailed paper statements of gift card transactions or histories. You can review your current balance, online FREE of charge on www.GiftCards.com.
9. What happens if my GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card is lost or stolen?
If your gift card is lost or stolen, please contact us immediately by calling our toll free number at 1-877-944-3822. Be sure to give as much detailed information as possible to ensure that proper investigation can be handled in an expeditious manner.
Typically we will deactive your stolen card, and reissue you a new card.
10. Can the GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card ever have a negative balance?
Any authorization request that is greater than the gift cards available balance will be declined. However, there can be times when a Visa® merchant puts an item through without prior authorization. If this happens and you exceed your gift card's limit, you will be billed for the excess amount. If the negative amount is greater than $5.00, then a $15.00 service fee may be added to the total amount due.

No, there is not a fee to create a corporate or consumer account. 13. Who might like a GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card?
Anyone. Friends, relatives, business associates companies use gift cards as incentives, corporate gifts, rebate programs, rewards and more. It's a gift that can be used everywhere Visa® Debit Cards are accepted.
1. While placing a gift card order on your website, I received a message that I must verify the charge for one small credit card transaction. Why is this necessary?
For some orders, our security system is unable to completely verify the information being entered for the card purchase. These orders require a higher level of verification to protect our customers. To accomplish this higher level of verification, we issue one small charge ($1.00 to $1.40) to the credit card being used to purchase your gift card(s), which you need to check online at your banks site and then provide us with this number.
2. What must be done with the one credit card charge used to verify my order?
To verify your order, you must verify the amount of the charge placed on your bank statement.
You can check your online bank statement to obtain the $1.00 to $1.40 charge, or you can call your bank to obtain the amount that we charged to your card. Please note that this charge may not show up on your bank statement until the next business day.
3. After I obtain the credit card charge from my bank statement, what happens next?
We send you an email that contains a link, www.giftcards.com/verify. When you click on this link in the email, you will be taken to a specific page on our website. At this webpage, you enter the invoice number from your card order and the amount of the one small credit card charge. When the one charge is verified by our system, your order will be processed. Your credit card will be billed for the purchase amount MINUS the small credit card charge. The funds will be loaded onto the card(s) in your order. If you use the same credit card for future orders, you will no longer have to verify credit card amounts.
1. So I can pay a bill with my gift card, how does it work?
Yes, you can pay a bill with your gift card. Just click on the 'Pay a Bill with Your Gift Card' link on the home page. Start with Step 1 and enter your merchant gift card and the card balance. The redemption rate will automatically populate for you. Redemption rates vary per merchant. Complete Step 2 by entering your contact information. Print the form, then simply mail the form, a copy of your bill, and your gift card to Giftcards.com. The mailing address is printed on the form. We recommend mailing your gift card First Class Insured mail with tracking. We are not responsible for gift cards lost in the mail. We are not responsible for late payments. When we receive your gift card we will verify the card balance and pay the bill!
When your gift card arrives at Giftcards.com we will verify the balance and pay the bill within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. If the bill can be electronically paid it will take approximately 3 days. If the biller does not accept electronic payment, a check will be sent. Please note: We are not responsible for any late fees or finance charges associated with your bill.
Any bill! Yes, we mean any bill! You can pay your Macy's charge bill with a gift card from Best Buy. You can pay your local electric bill, your heating bill, your cable bill, etc.

If you experience difficulty using your gift card for online or telephone purchases it is possible that the address that was used at the time the gift card was purchased is different from your current address. Most online and telephone purchases require that the billing address for your purchase match the address on file for your GiftCards.com™ Visa® card. You can update your gift card settings by registering your gift card online at www.Giftcards.com Click on Account Signup to create your free account. After the account has been created you can access it by clicking on My Account. Next, go to Gift Manager to view your account information. To change your address click on the View Info link. Then you can make the necessary changes to your address. Click Update to save your changes.
You can use your GiftCards.com™ Visa® Gift Card outside of the United States at any location that accepts Visa® debit cards.

6. Was your gift card declined even though you believe you have money left on the card to cover your purchase?
There may be a few reasons for purchases being declined:
Was the gift card balance less than the attempted purchase amount? You may inform the merchant of the remaining balance on the gift card and use another form of payment to pay the difference first then have the merchant process the gift card.
Did the merchant try to process the gift card as a Debit rather than a Credit? Most of the gift cards that we sell are standard gift cards with a VISA logo and not ATM debit cards. Although your standard gift card may say DEBIT on the front, it is NOT linked with a PIN number. Unless your card has the Cirrus/Interlink logo on the back, it can only be used by selecting Credit, swiping your card, and signing for your purchase. Just tell the cashier to run it through like a Credit card and not as a Debit.
Most restaurants, hotels, rent-a-car companies, and cruise lines -- require the gift card have an available balance 20% greater than the purchase amount to ensure sufficient funds for tips or incidental expenses.
Use of the gift card at automated fuel dispensers requires a minimum balance of $50-$75. However, only the actual amount spent will be deducted from the gift card and the remaining funds will be added back to your gift card in 3-5 business days.
7. The merchant is insisting that my gift card has to be used as debit and it is asking me for a PIN.
Occasionally, the authorization systems at some merchants may insist that the gift card be run as a debit and that a PIN must be entered. In most cases, if you hit 'clear' and then 'enter' on the PIN pad, it will run the card as credit.
8. Can I use my GiftCards.com™ Visa® Gift Card for gasoline purchases?
Yes. However, you should be aware when using our gift cards at a gas station, it's best to take the card inside & see the attendant. Because the final amount of your gas purchase is unknown at the time you swipe your card, the gas pump automatically places a $50-$75 authorization hold on the card in order to anticipate your final purchase amount. 9. What happens if I need to return an item purchased with my gift card?
Each merchant location has its own return policies and will handle the returns in the same manner as any other Visa® transaction. They may credit your GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card, provide a cash refund, or issue a store credit. Please note, GiftCards.com™ is not responsible for returns or credits onto your gift card; you are solely responsible for working directly with the merchant that you are requesting a refund or credit for previously purchased items. If the full balance of your gift card is used for a purchase, making the balance $0.00, the gift card account will automatically be closed. Should you return the merchandise purchased on your gift card after the account is closed, we will reissue a gift card for a $5.00 fee, which is deducted from the gift card value.
10. Can I use my GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card at restaurants?
Yes. However, you should be aware that restaurants' credit card machines are designed to accommodate gratuity. Since the standard gratuity is 20%, their terminals automatically preauthorize for the total bill plus the gratuity-whether you put the tip on the card or not. 12. Does the gift card balance have enough to pay for the entire purchase price?
If not, please use another form of payment to pay for the difference first and then use your gift card to pay for the remainder, or the last portion of the purchase. Merchants can use multiple forms of payment to pay for your purchases.

13. Can I use my GiftCards.com™ Visa® gift card in conjunction with my PayPal account?
No. A Visa® gift card cannot be used in conjunction with your PayPal account.
Giftcards are not accepted for PayPal transactions. Giftcards cannot be converted to cash and cannot be used for traveler's checks, money orders, PayPal accounts, etc.
Once you are in receipt of your GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card, you need to activate your card by registering your ATM Gift Card online through our Gift Manager. Before you can take advantage of our Gift Manager, you will need to have a free account set up with GiftCards.com. Sign-up for your free Gift Manager Account here.
Once you have registered your gift card, your PIN number will be displayed. Please make a note of this number and keep it in a secure place for future reference.
If you forget your PIN, you can request another PIN by simply going to your online account and choosing the option to obtain a new PIN. A $0.50 fee is applied to the gift card for all new PIN requests.

Yes, you can obtain cash back from a merchant location that displays the Cirrus or Interlink logo. A $3.25 Cash Advance Fee is assessed to your GiftCards.com™ ATM Gift Card per cash advance transaction.
9. What are the benefits of purchasing a GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card?
ATM cards provide you with a convenient way to get cash and check how much money you have in your gift card. ATMs make cash available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at many locations. You can use ATMs that display the Cirrus or Interlink logo which are located at several bank locations, as well grocery and drug stores, office buildings, and street corners across the United States and worldwide.
ATM cards can often be used to buy things. When you buy something using your ATM card, the money is taken directly from your gift card. Some stores allow you to get cash back from your gift card when you buy something with your GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card.
10. Can I check my remaining balance on a GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card?
Yes, you can check the balance on a GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card. Inquiries can be made at an ATM machine that displays the Cirrus and or Interlink logo. The cost is $1.00 per balance inquiry and is deducted directly from the GiftCards.com™ Visa® ATM card. The $1.00 fee is in addition to any fee charged by the bank or owner for use of the ATM.
11. Does my GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card have a PIN?
Yes, if you have purchased or were given a GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card, a PIN is required. To identify if you have a GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card, please refer to the back of your gift card. If your gift card displays the Cirrus and Interlink logo, then the gift card is a GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card.
You have 3 attempts at using your GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card at ATM locations. If you do not know your PIN and attempt to withdraw funds, the ATM will lock your account for security purposes. Your account will not be available for 24 hours thereafter.
You may obtain your PIN from your account that you have created online when registering and activating your GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card. You can register your card by creating a free account with us anytime by clicking here.
13. What happens if my GiftCards.com™ ATM Visa® Gift Card is lost or stolen?
You need to contact us immediately if any type of GiftCards.com™ gift card has been lost or stolen.
To report a lost/stolen VISA gift card, contact our toll-free number at (877) 944-3822. Our customer service team is available 24/7. Please provide as much information as possible. GiftCards.com™ will conduct a complete investigation and will close the gift card immediately.
You do have the option to have a replacement ATM gift card reissued to you and any unused funds will be transferred to the new gift card. There is a $5.00 administration fee to have a new gift card reissued back to you.
Yes, you can change your PIN at any point by requesting a PIN change. You can do this by logging into your online account and submitting the appropriate request online. A new PIN will be generated and a fee will be assessed to your gift card: the fee is $0.50 per PIN change.

9. Can the balance on a VirtualGift Account ever become a negative balance?
Any purchase that is attempted to be authorized for an amount that is greater then the available balance on the VirtualGift Account will be declined. However, if an appropriate authorization is not presented to GiftCards.com, there is a possibility of the card reaching a negative balance once the full amount of a transaction is presented on any previously approved authorized transactions.
10. Is there an additional charge for using the VirtualGift Account for a foreign purchase?
The same rules that apply for our Standard gift cards will apply to the VirtualGift in respect to foreign purchase fees. International Fee conversion is subject to a 3% conversion along with a $2.00 flat fee per transaction.
14. Is there an expiration date for the GiftCards.com™ VirtualGift Account?
Yes. The expiration date is 12 months from date of issue, however you can get a new card issued to you at no fee within 5 years according to the CARD act.

You have the option to have a name of your choice on the gift card or to have the gift card non-personalized.
If you choose to NOT personalize the gift card, you can insert your company name or even the text 'Gift Card' into the name fields, but these fields do need to be filled.
In addition, there is a 16-digit number that is embossed onto the gift card, which gives the gift card its own unique identity. Also, a message field is available for you to add a personalized message to the card (no special characters allowed). This field is optional, but is included in the fees. The space available in the message field is a total of 23 characters (no special characters allowed and spaces count as characters) in the first and last name field.
*Please note, some internet merchants or telephone purchases require the name and address that is listed for the gift card, therefore it will be important to ensure that the cardholder is aware of the address listed, otherwise purchases may be declined through the internet or over the phone. 6. Can I cancel an order already placed with GiftCards.com?
Online orders placed at www.GiftCards.com™ are processed daily and may be cancelled for free ONLY before we've processed your request. Should your order be processed and you wish to cancel, we can refund your money by check or credit back to your credit card, but there is a $7 processing fee for this service. AVS Mismatch error means your billing address does not match the address information on file with the card you are trying to use to make payment on your purchase. If this happens, please ensure the billing address you entered exactly matches the address on file with your form of payment. 8. Who can order the GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card?
Anyone 18 or older can order a GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card through our website by using a credit card. Telephone orders are only accepted for corporate bulk order customers. All consumer online purchases of less than 10 Gift Cards must be completed through the website and paid with a credit card only.
We verify all purchases; both with the customer and the credit card issuing bank to ensure that the order is legitimate.
9. Is there a limit as to how much value the GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card can have?
Yes. For consumer orders, the minimum face value of a GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card is $20.00 and the maximum is $500.00. Any increment in between is considered a valid amount.
10. Can my GiftCards.com™ Visa® Gift Card be non-personalized?
Yes. In place of the first and last name fields you can insert your company name or even the text 'Gift Card.' This will allow you to have a non-personalized Gift Card.
*Please note, even though you don't have to use a person's name in these fields, they still need to be filled. Also some internet merchants or telephone purchases require the name and address that is listed for the gift card, therefore, it will be important to ensure that the cardholder is aware of the address listed, otherwise purchases may be declined through the internet or over the phone. If the recipient would like their information to be associated with the gift card, they can open a free account with us anytime by clicking here and adding their card to Gift Manager.
11. Does the gift recipient need to sign an agreement?
The gift card recipient accepts our Terms and Conditions either by signing the back of the card, using the card, receiving the card by request, or by purchasing the card online where a box is manually checked by the purchaser. In addition, each gift card is affixed to the Terms and Conditions. This agreement fully explains the rules regarding the use of the card as well as the fees associated to the gift card.
By purchasing a GiftCards.com™ Visa® Debit Gift Card, you also are accepting all of the terms and usages of the GiftCards.com™ ™ Visa® Debit Gift Card.
For corporate bulk order customers that are ordering 10 or more gift cards, a corporate bulk order agreement is required to be signed and faxed back to GiftCards.com™ at 412-921-7345; before the order can be processed. Typically, all gift cards are mailed the next business day after the order is placed, provided the purchase is verified with the bank, with the purchaser and the order is placed before 4:30 PM ET. Typically, recipient should receive the gift card within 2 to 9 business days after the order was placed.
Virtual Gift orders made Monday through Friday between 8am - 5 pm will be processed within 24 hours; orders made after 5pm on Friday may take upwards of 48-72 hours to process.
No. We do not offer any refunds on shipping or handling. Once you place your order, you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions, which clearly state that GiftCards.com™ does not refund on shipping or handling of the gift card.
5. How long does it typically take for a refund to be issued?
A GiftCards.com™ Visa® Gift Card cannot be exchanged for cash. A replacement card may be reissued upon review and approval by our Fraud and Risk department, which can take up to 2-4 weeks. Once a decision has been reached, the customer will be contacted to obtain the outcome of the review.
