Colorado Springs is one of the few large cities in Colorado, and has a rich and interesting heritage. It is currently home both the U.S. Air Force Academy and NORAD, but also serves as something of a Colorado cultural center. If you want to visit, you should take the time to visit the sites below.

The U.S. Olympic Complex: You may not think of the Olympics when you think of Colorado Springs, but this large complex allows visitors a chance to see where real Olympians work and train. You can check out the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame while you are there, and the souvenir shop offers a shopping opportunity that simply cannot be matched.

Old Colorado City: If you want to get away from the modern façade of Colorado Springs and visit the past, Old Colorado City might be the best place to go. Full of historic buildings, unique shops and great local dining, this is the best place in the area to soak up the culture of one of Colorado’s finest cities. Be warned, though – if you fly in to Colorado Springs, you may need another bag for the souvenirs that you pick up here.

The U.S. Air Force Academy: Home to the future officers of the U.S. Air Force, this campus is a wonderful sight for those fans of the military or aviation. There are numerous visitor attractions within the campus, and the gift shop is great for fans of the Air Force. Lucky visitors may also see parachute drills or even the famous Thunderbirds, though such sightings are random at best.

Colorado Springs is a wonderful place to visit if you want a unique experience. Whether you are looking for the last remnants of the Old West, a look into the future or just a unique place to dine or shop, this is the city for you. Always remember that the best places in the city are often hidden secrets, and taking the time to walk around will reveal them to you.
