Gift Local was born out of a desire to buy gift cards for local merchants without having to trek out to individual stores. National chain store gift cards are available at gift card kiosks in the mall, at grocery stores, and online. But local gift cards are only available in mom and pop locations, if at all. Gift Local changes that.

The merchants listed on our site all accept Discover card. GiftCards.com partnered with Discover to offer custom gift cards redeemable wherever Discover cards are accepted. So all you have to do is select a merchant, customize the card, and send it off!

Featured merchants are affiliated with GiftCards.com. All others are listed as a courtesy.

How it Works

It's easy. All you need to do is enter your location and search for all of the fantastic local merchants in your area that already accept Discover. Once you find the merchant you want, big or small, simply add the card to your cart, customize and checkout.

The city of Columbus has many nicknames. The capital of Ohio has been called the Arch City, Cowtown and The Biggest Small Town in America. Many find this final nickname to be particularly appropriate. Although Columbus is the fifteenth largest city in the United States, it has an unmistakable small town feel and friendly charm that is enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. That said, Columbus also boasts a colorful arts culture, a vibrant nightlife scene and many choices for shopping, dining and exploring.

The Top 3 Places to Visit in Columbus:

1) One of Columbus’ most popular destinations is German Village. This historic neighborhood is a testament to the city’s German heritage. Columbus was founded by German settlers in the mid-1800′s and many of the original Queen Anne style buildings remain in this part of town. The brick sidewalks are lined with enough shops and restaurants to please even the pickiest visitor. In fact, German Village is known for its fine dining and many of the city’s best restaurants are located in this neighborhood.

2) Easton Town Center is ideal for those who would rather live in the modern world. This neighborhood features unique, contemporary architecture and is one of the most popular shopping districts in the city. Restaurants cater to an array of dining needs, from casual take-out to upscale cuisine. Shopping options include everything from large, national chains to smaller, local retailers. Whether you are interested in modern architecture or you want to hit the shops, Easton Town Center has what you are looking for.

3) The Short North Arts District is the Artistic center of the city and is one of the reasons that Columbus has been called the “Indy Arts Capital of the World”. Galleries and boutiques abound, and the streets are dotted with many of Columbus’ most unique shops and restaurants. Once a month, the area plays host to Gallery Hop, a one-night festival that features art gallery displays, food, music, sidewalk merchants and street performers.
