A true jewel of the American Midwest, Kansas City, Missouri is located on the state’s border with Kansas on the mighty Missouri River. The city is well known as the City of Fountains thanks to the presence of over 200 fountains located within it. In fact, the city claims to have the largest number of fountains of any location in the world other than Rome, Italy. Kansas City, or KC as it is often called, is also known as the Paris of the Plains due to its cultural leanings and the presence of many wide boulevards.

People visiting Kansas City for a short time should make the most of their stays by focusing on the top three places to go within the city. The first thing visitors should do is make time to stop by the National World War I Museum. This modern complex features state of the art technology alongside a large number of war artifacts to tell the important story of the first great war of the 20th century.

For a more lighthearted experience, people coming to Kansas City should obtain tickets to see a Kansas City Royals game at Kauffman Stadium. The stadium is one of the most beautiful in the sport of baseball, and it features the largest privately funded fountains in the world. Before the game, people experiencing the city for the first time should visit a place like Jack Stack Barbecue for some authentic Kansas City barbecue after shopping in the newly renovated Freight House District.

With so much to do in Kansas City, it can be difficult for visitors to find the appropriate time to see everything. However, by taking in these top three attractions on an initial trip, visitors can achieve a great taste of what KC represents. The city may not be as well known as some other, larger urban areas, but it has a distinctive charm all its own that will not soon be forgotten after a visit.
