Gift Local was born out of a desire to buy gift cards for local merchants without having to trek out to individual stores. National chain store gift cards are available at gift card kiosks in the mall, at grocery stores, and online. But local gift cards are only available in mom and pop locations, if at all. Gift Local changes that.

The merchants listed on our site all accept Discover card. GiftCards.com partnered with Discover to offer custom gift cards redeemable wherever Discover cards are accepted. So all you have to do is select a merchant, customize the card, and send it off!

Featured merchants are affiliated with GiftCards.com. All others are listed as a courtesy.

How it Works

It's easy. All you need to do is enter your location and search for all of the fantastic local merchants in your area that already accept Discover. Once you find the merchant you want, big or small, simply add the card to your cart, customize and checkout.

Omaha, Nebraska is one of the United States’ major Midwestern cities, and it also functions as a gateway to the Western part of the country for many travelers. In fact, the city’s nickname is Gateway to the West because it is situated on the edge of the Great Plains on the banks of the Missouri River. Though many people simply pass through the city on their way to other destinations, Omaha is a wonderful place to visit in its own right.

There are numerous attractions within the city of Omaha for travelers to visit, but people coming to the city for the first time should focus on the city’s top three places to go. First on the list is the world-famous Henry Doorly Zoo. Fun and educational for the whole family, the zoo is known for its leadership role in breeding some of the world’s endangered species.

Secondly, visitors to Omaha should take time to experience the shopping, dining and cultural attractions located in the city’s downtown area, particularly in the Old Market district. Food lovers will be amazed at the number of wonderful local restaurants situated in this part of the city such as the Old Mattress Factory and Spaghetti Works. Shoppers will fall in love with the many specialty shops in the area like Studio 13 and The Imaginarium.

Finally, visitors to Omaha should take some time to explore the Missouri Riverfront and cross the Bob Kerrey pedestrian bridge. Here, people can learn about the history of the area and receive a first-hand view of the Missouri River in action. History buffs will also enjoy the many exhibits and informational plaques dedicated to the Lewis and Clark Expedition of the early 1800s.

Many people have simply passed through Omaha without giving a second thought to stopping for a visit. Those who have elected to spend time in the city, though, have come away with a great appreciation. Though there is much to do in this wonderful city, visitors can gain a terrific feel for Omaha by spending time at the top three attractions.
