Affectionately known as the City by the Bay, San Fransisco continues to charm visitors from across the globe. The street celebrates the psychedelic history of the city that was founded by such musical luminaries as the Grateful Dead. Shoreline Amphitheater and the Great American Music Hall are fine places to catch a concert. Be certain to stroll along Fisherman’s Wharf with its carnival like atmosphere at stops like Pier 39. A fun day trip can be had by taking a ferry across the bay to Alcatraz Island for a tour of the famous jail. City Lights Books will be adored by bibliophiles and fans of the literature of the Beat Generation.
