To verify your order, you must verify the amount of the charge placed on your bank statement.

Was the gift card balance less than the attempted purchase amount? You may inform the merchant of the remaining balance on the gift card and use another form of payment to pay the difference first then have the merchant process the gift card.

Did the merchant try to process the gift card as a debit transaction rather than credit? Although your gift card says DEBIT on the front, it is NOT linked to a PIN number. Just tell the cashier to run the card through like a credit card and not as a debit transaction.
Most restaurants, hotels, rental car companies, and cruise lines -- require the gift card have an available balance 20% greater than the purchase amount to ensure sufficient funds for tips or incidental expenses.

Use of the gift card at automated fuel dispensers requires a minimum balance of $50-$75. However, only the actual amount spent will be deducted from the gift card and the remaining funds will be added back to your gift card in 3-5 business days.

Please note, GiftCards.com™ is not responsible for returns or credits onto your gift card; you are solely responsible for working directly with the merchant that you are requesting a refund or credit for previously purchased items. If the full balance of your gift card is used for a purchase, making the balance $0.00, the gift card account will automatically be closed. Since the standard gratuity is 20%, their terminals automatically preauthorize for the total bill plus the gratuity-whether you put the tip on the card or not. In addition, there is a 16-digit number that is embossed onto the gift card, which gives the gift card its own unique identity. Also, a message field is available for you to add a personalized message to the card (no special characters allowed). This field is optional, but is included in the fees.
