eGift Card FAQs
If you or the intended recipient have not received an email containing the eGift, please check in your GiftCards.ca account first to make sure the order was successfully approved and then processed, where the Order Status for that item should be listed as Available. To view this status, login to your account on GiftCards.ca, then look for the eGift Card under Order History. If it's there, select View Item Details for that eGift, then check the Status listed within the Item Overview section.
If the card is not showing in your order history, then the transaction was not successful or your order has failed the fraud and security review. You may still see pending charges or pre-authorizations on your credit card if this happens though, but these generally disappear from your credit card after 3 to 10 business days. In this situation, no actual funds are taken from your card since your order was not able to proceed to the processing stage. If you need help or have questions about an order, please contact our customer serivce team via the chat service on our site or by calling them at 1-844-335-9670. They are available from 6am to 9pm PST, Monday to Sunday.
If the eGift Card is for yourself, you can also download it directly from within your account. Login and then check under Order History for the card first, select it, then click or tap on the View Voucher button in the Item Overview section for that card.
If the card is a gift for someone else, please ask them to check their spam or junk folders first, as well as any email filters such as the Promotions tab in Gmail. If the card is not there, you can re-send it to them via your GiftCards.ca account. Once you've logged in, look for the card under Order History, select View Item Details for the card you wish to re-send, then click or tap the blue Re-send email link shown in brackets within the Item Overview section. If you experience any issues with this re-send, please contact our customer service team via the chat service on our site or by calling them at 1-844-335-9670. They are available from 6am to 9pm PST (Pacific Standard Time), Monday to Sunday.
Once an eGift Card has been emailed, it is non-refundable. If the intended recipient does not receive their eGift, please check which email address it was sent to and then ask them to check their spam or junk folders. Yes, restrictions on purchasing eGift Cards are —
- eGifts can only be delivered via email or downloaded from a GiftCards.ca account
- Delivery is NOT instant, it can take up to 48 hours from the time of purchase to review and then process an order
- There are restrictions on the quantity of eGifts Cards that can be ordered, generally not more than 10 cards per order
- Some brands may only have set denominations available, please refer to that specific card' webpage to find out what amounts can be loaded onto that card
There are no fees or expiration dates associated with single-branded eGift Cards like Esso or Uber, but there is a purchase fee of $7.95 per card for a Virtual Joker Prepaid Mastercard, and this card also has an expiry date in the form of a Valid Thru date. You can check the status of an order by logging into your account on the site and then clicking or tapping on the card order in the Order History or Gift Cards section of your account. Then simply review the Status for that order listed within the Item Overview section for that eGift.
You can shop on the site at any time, simply add the gift cards you want to the shopping cart, then check-out by paying with a valid Canadian Visa or Mastercard® credit card.
Your recipient will receive an email message that contains a link to their eGift Card. You will also receive a delivery confirmation email once theirs has been sent. The link in the email will take them to their eGift Card. eGifts can also be downloaded from either the purchaser's account on the site (for cards bought for yourself), or they can be downloaded from the recipient's account on the site if the eGift was sent as a gift to someone else. If the gift recipient doesn't have an account on our site, they can still create one using the same email adddress that the eGift was sent to and then download their eGift from their new account.
eGift Cards are delivered by email or can be downloaded from either the purchaser's account on the site (for cards bought for yourself), or they can be downloaded from the recipient's account on the site if the eGift was given as gift to someone else. If the gift recipient doesn't have an account on the site, then they can create one using the same email address that the eGift was sent to.

We do NOT accept payment by cash, cheque, or debit card. We also cannot accept payment from other kinds of credit cards, other online payment methods, or from other mobile wallet providers.
Most orders are processed within 12 hours of purchase, but it can sometimes take up to 48 hours from the time of purchase to review the order before it is approved and then processed.
Once approved, the eGift will be delivered by email, as well as becoming available for download from either the purchaser's GiftCards.ca account (for eGifts bought for yourself), or it can be downloaded from the gift recipient's account on the site if they already have one, or if they wish to create one. If creating one, the recipient will need to use the same email address that the eGift was sent to by the purchaser.
If the order fails the review, then it will be rejected and you will receive an Order Cancellation email. Any pending charges on your credit card will generally disappear from your credit card after 3 to 10 business days. No actual funds are taken from your card if your order does not pass the review stage of the process and the order is then cancelled.
Except for virtual Mastercards®, our eGift Cards can only be redeemed in Canada. For cards that can be redeemed in-person, they must be used at a Canadian location for that retailer, while for cards that can be redeemed online, they must be used on the Canadian version of that retailer's website or app.
Depending on the eGift Card, some can ONLY be used in-person at that retailer's store or restaurant location(s), while other cards can also be redeemed online via the retailer's own website or app. Then there are some cards that can ONLY be redeemed online, via the retailer's own website or app. Since every brand of eGift Card is different, please be sure to check the card details listed on each card's webpage before purchasing it.
You can purchase small quantities of gift cards and eGifts for your business on this site, but if you need larger quantities, customized cards or cards with higher values loaded onto them, please visit our Corporate Orders page for further information. Our plastic gift cards can only be redeemed in Canada. Virtual Joker Prepaid Mastercard® FAQs
The Virtual Joker Prepaid Mastercard is a prepaid e-card for online use only. The card can be used to make online purchases worldwide, wherever Mastercard is accepted. There is a 2.5% Foreign Transaction Fee for any online purchases made outside of Canada or not purchased in Canadian currency. This card is not reloadable and cannot be used to withdraw cash, or used at an ATM. Funds loaded to this card are not insured by the CDIC.
Virtual Joker Prepaid Mastercards can be used to make online purchases worldwide, wherever Mastercard is accepted. There is also a 2.5% Foreign Transaction Fee for any online purchases made outside of Canada or on any redemptions made in non-Canadian currency. This virtual Mastercard is for online use only, wherever Mastercard is accepted online. The card must be activated by the card recipient before it can be used. The online registration and activation process starts as soon as the recipient clicks the link to access their virtual Joker Card for the first time.
When making a purchase online, simply enter the required card information. The card number, expiry date and CVV2 information are displayed on the Virtual Mastercard itself. If the cardholder's address details are also required to check-out when using the Joker Card to pay online, then they must match the address details used to register and activate the card.

Funds on the card do not expire however, please call the Joker Card's own customer service team at 1-833-293-7721 for further information on how to obtain a new card if the Valid Thru date has passed but there are still funds left on the card.
