The perfect gift card for Father’s Day can be used at multiple stores and restaurants—giving dad a choice of how he spends his time and money.
The New Happy Father’s Day Gift Card
Have you heard of Happy Card gift cards?
Each gift card in the collection is usable at a curated list of stores and restaurants for each card. For example, the Happy Eats gift card is currently usable at restaurants like Panera, Jamba and Burger King. The Happy Teen gift card is currently usable at American Eagle, Sephora, Regal Cinemas and more.
What I love most about Happy Cards is that the recipient can use the card at any of the stores listed on the card, but the giver does not have to pay extra to offer flexibility. Whatever money you spend on the card will be loaded onto the card.
For Father’s Day, the Happy Card team launched a new gift card called, “Happy Dad” and one called, “#BestDadEver.” These gift cards are usable at a bunch of stores and restaurants that might appeal to your dad.
Where to Buy Happy Father’s Day Gift Cards
Father’s Day is on Sunday, June 20, 2021.
Happy Father’s Day gift cards will be sold online and in most major grocery stores from the end of April through the end of June, or shortly after Father’s Day.
You can soon buy Happy Dad gift cards here at GiftCards.com as well.
Benefits of the Happy Father’s Day Gift Cards
While every dad is different, the Happy Father’s Day gift cards (Happy Dad and #BestDadEver) are designed with the idea that at least one of the brands on the card will be a fit for your pop. If he’s a DIY-kinda-guy, then he might use the card at Lowe’s. If likes to golf, he can go to TopGolf. And if he’s into sports, then Fanatics is the answer. Of course, there are restaurants and gaming options as well.
So, if you aren’t sure what gift card to get for Father’s Day, then either the Happy Dad or #BestDadEver gift card is a great solution.
And, keep in mind, the Father’s Day gift cards can be used at more than one business, if there is still money on the card. For instance, dad can use the Happy Dad gift card to pick up a new controller at GameStop, lunch at Domino’s and a new hammer at Lowe’s.
Make it a Father’s Day Gift
To make gift cards feel more personal, I often pair them with small items that add a thoughtful touch. Though I am not sure you need to do that with a Happy Father’s Day gift card, I’ll give you some suggestions anyway.
- Happy Socks – Pair a Happy Father’s Day gift card with a pair of happy socks. My brother-in-law, who dresses conservatively for work, says that socks are the only way to add personality to his attire. Wrap a pair of peppy socks around a Happy Father’s Day gift card for a fun little gift.
- Happy Thoughts – Make dad a handmade greeting card that includes a list of all the ways he’s made you happy over the years. Tuck a Happy Father’s Day gift card into the greeting card…and make sure you have some tissues nearby to catch the happy tears he will probably shed.
- Happy No-Tie – Don’t get dad another new tie for Father’s Day this year. Instead, go to the thrift store and pick up a donated tie or just grab one from his closet. Pin a Happy Father’s Day gift card to the tie and add a note that reads, “Aren’t you HAPPY we didn’t get you a new tie?”
If Your Happy Father’s Day, Happy Dad or #BestDadEver Gift Card Isn’t Working
Here are a few things to know about Happy Card gift cards.
In general, Happy Cards must be used in stores—not online or by phone. When you get to the cash register, make sure to run the gift card as a “credit” transaction. And remember, the gift card can be used at more than one store on the card if you have enough money on the card to cover the purchases. Finally, remember that sometimes the brands on Happy Card gift cards change. So, whatever brands are shown on the Happy Father’s Day gift card you have, is where the gift card can be used.

Another Father’s Day Gift Card
For the ultimate gift card of choice, get dad a custom Visa gift card that can be used anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. You will pay a purchase fee for that flexibility, however. Since Happy Cards have no purchase fee, you can give dad a few choices of how to spend the gift card without the additional cost.
