Make this easy Mother’s Day gift card holder for your beautiful mom.

“Gifting Made Easy” by Gift Card Girlfriend

This Mother’s Day gift card holder is very versatile. The sentiment is simple (“For My Beautiful Mother”) and so is the design. The printable greeting card can be cut to a 5 x 7 inch rectangle so it fits in a standard envelope or it can be put into a simple box like the one pictured in this post. Below are instructions for making this beautiful Mother’s Day gift just a little more beautiful.

Since the card reads “For my beautiful mother,” I think the gift works best when delivered to mom from a child. But that is the only rule for me. You can pick out nearly any gift card and add as much paper and ribbon as you want. I added a fresh flower to the top. Get creative and make it beautiful for your beautiful mother.

Here are the links to download the printable and order the gift card:

Add Some Style

After downloading the gift card holder, print it on a color printer using “best quality” and “actual size” settings. (Do not select “shrink to fit” or any other setting that will change the size of the printed .pdf image.) White, card stock paper measuring 8-1/2 x 11 inches works best. Once printed, use the guide marks and a straight-edge paper cutter to trim the gift card holder.

A standard envelope will hold a 5 x 7 inch card, so if you’re planning to put the completed Mother’s Day greeting card with gift card into an envelope, then you can attach the gift card and be done. I just like to add layers, texture and coordinating colors. Do what works best for you.

I wanted to put this gift card holder into a craft paper box I had around the house. I spray painted it brown first because I thought that color would bring out the pink design on the card. To make the layered card fit into the box, I had to trim everything just a little.

Now all you have to do is add the gift card. Since the holder says “beautiful mom,” I first selected health and beauty gift cards like Nordstrom, Ulta, Sephora and Spa Finder.

The more I played with the holder, however, the more I realized that whatever mom wants is what she should get. So it doesn’t matter if the card matches or not. (Though I’m really liking a silver or grey card against this printable.) So check out these holders with Barnes & Noble, Chipotle and the ever-popular Visa®.

Now it’s time to put the card in the box and wrap it up. I used a simple grosgrain ribbon and a fresh Gerbera daisy. On top of my spray-painted box, I think it’s beautiful–just like mom.

Don’t be afraid to get creative with the gift card inside. If mom is on her own, then a gift card for car service could be an excellent gift. Last year, I bought my mom a 12-pack of car wash gift cards so she could get her car washed once a month. She loved this gift and literally thanked me every time she used it.

Is this a second (third or fourth) time around for mom? Then consider a gift card to a maternity store or a baby store for products and services to ease the challenges of pregnancy. (Here’s a list of Top 10 Gift Cards to Buy for New Moms on Mother’s Day

I hope you’ll find that with all of the gift card holders we offer, there is a range of effort you can put into each one. The minimum effort is to simply download the printable, cut it out, fold (if needed) and attach a gift card. If you have time and the desire to get more creative, then in just a few steps, you can turn a simple gift card into a presentation. Both, however, show thought because taking the time to make your own gift card holder is a step you didn’t have to take. (Plus, it’s cheaper to make your own card than to buy a greeting card at the store.)
