The quickest and easiest way to send Visa gift cards is to order online and have the cards on their way in no time!
Visa gift cards are some of the most flexible gift cards you can send. Since they can be used wherever Visa is accepted, the cards can be redeemed online, in stores, over the phone or even at the Farmer’s Market if the seller accepts mobile payments. Below are seven quick steps to teach you how to easily send Visa gift cards.
I already shared the best places to buy Visa gift cards in a previous blog post. As a recap, you can buy them online, in grocery stores, at banks and a variety of other places. Since you typically have to pay an activation fee, make sure to read the terms and conditions on the card you pick to see how much buying the card will cost versus post-sale fees such as non-use charges, reload fees and so forth. Cards with lower activation fees may cost you more on the back-end, but that shouldn’t matter if you believe the recipient will use the card quickly. The activation fees at GiftCards.com are some of the lowest in the industry, so in this blog post, I’ll share how to send a Visa Gift Card from our site.
1. Select Visa
From the main menu on GiftCards.com, select Visa. From there, you will be given the choice of “Personalize,” “Pre-Design,” “Virtual,” or “Corporate Bulk.” If you want to send a digital gift card, the instructions are here.
2. Select a Design
One of the reasons our Visa gift cards are so popular is because consumers can buy this product and upload a photo to make it a unique, personalized gift that is still highly usable. (How often does that happen with personalized gifts?) I’ve also found that because the image is personal, the recipient often keeps the card long after the value has been used. So, if you want to add an image to your personalized Visa gift card, select “Make a Gift Card.” If you’d rather choose from images created by the GiftCards.com designers, then select “Predesign Gallery.”
If “Personalize,” Add a Photo
Now the fun begins. Choosing from images in your own photo library or from the hundreds available on your social media accounts, you can add the photo of your choice to the Visa gift card. To use a photo from one of your social media accounts, you may need to log into GiftCards.com with that same profile or give permission for the system to access it. When you find the photo you want to use, upload it and resize as needed. When you’re happy with the card, click “Next Step.”
If “Pre-Designed,” Pick a Design
Our more popular gift card designs are sorted towards the top, but you may find a gem as you search through the thousands of gift card images available. Using the “Browse by Category” on the left-hand side, you can narrow the choices to fit your needs. Select the image you’d like to use.
3. Choose an Amount
Available in amounts from 10 to 500 dollars, select the load value you’d like to put on the card. If you’re not sure how much to spend on a Visa gift card, read my post on determining the best gift card amount.
4. Add the Embossed Name
Another great feature of our gift cards is that you can personalize the embossed name and message on the card. So not only is the image personalized, but the card itself is as well. Even though it’s fun to consider writing nicknames such as “GRANDPA JOE” or “MY BFF” on the “Name” line, I encourage to put the recipient’s first and last name. (As a security measure, some online shopping carts insist that the name on the card used for payment matches the name in the user’s profile on that website. A nickname could cause the card to get declined.)
5. Add a Personal Message
Unlike the name field, you can write anything you want on the personal message line–within reason, of course. (Your order will be denied if this field contains inappropriate content.) Select one of the canned greetings or add your own in 18 characters or less. Select “Next Step” when all of the fields are filled in.
6. Select a Greeting Card
At this point, you have the option to pick the gift card holder that your card will be delivered in. You can select a custom greeting card for a few extra dollars or you can select the free paper carrier that simply holds the card.
7. Personalize the Card Carrier
If you select the custom greeting card, you will be able to add a personal message to the greeting card and play with the fonts and text. If you select the standard carrier, you will simply add a greeting. Select “Complete” when done. The gift card will be added to your shopping cart.
Now all you have to do is pay for the card and enter shipping details. If you send multiple Visa gift cards, you can ship them to the same address or different ones.
Now isn’t that easier than driving to the store, buying a Visa gift card off the rack, buying a greeting card to put it in and going to the post office to mail it? In just a few minutes, your one-of-a-kind gift card will be on its way. And THAT, my friends, is how to send Visa gift cards quickly and easily.
