DirectCertificates becomes Giftcards.com, becoming the largest gift card website.
2005
Pivoted the business away from merchant offerings to focus on pre-paid Visa gift cards complete with personalized message on the card.
2006
Introduced VirtualGift with the ability to purchase and send a virtual Visa gift card almost instantaneously through email.
2008-2010
Revolutionized the gifting industry with the ability to customize gift cards by uploading a personal photo to be printed as the backdrop on a Visa and Mastercard gift card. Also began selling merchant gift cards from popular retail brands nationwide.
2013
Partnered with consumer expert Shelley Hunter (a.k.a. Gift Card Girlfriend) to provide practical advice, inspiring ideas and insights into the gift card industry through the creation of our gift card blog.
2015
Introduced GMoney Rewards, a rewards program that earned points for registered customers on every purchase made on Giftcards.com. GMoney rewards could be redeemed for future purchases of gift cards on the website.
2016
Acquired by Blackhawk Network Holdings, Inc. to broaden their leading prepaid and payments network, with a suite of gift card ecommerce solutions for both business and direct-to-consumer customers.
2019
Introduced Happy Gift Cards, multi-store gift cards that offer flexibility of brand choice without any added costs.
2022
Launched the One4all gift card, a multi-brand gift card redeemable at over 100 different retailers and restaurants, offering the ultimate in versatility and choice.
2024
